It's difficult for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you step out on the field, your fighting spirit kick in and you completely engage with the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has continuously been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and after that the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

When she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm pleased we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if necessary, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this World Cup need to hear.

In recent days a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.
